The setting of this encounter is emblematic: the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art of Valle Giulia in Rome. The shots that compose this work were all taken on the same day, between the museum's interior and its monumental staircase. At the top of those steps, almost invisible spectators appear. They are, or rather we are, the "Small Men": observers and at the same time creators of something destined to outlast us. The work stages a silent dialogue between the nobility of classical sculpture and the evanescence of a digital apparition. It is a reflection on the greatness of art which, in whatever form it manifests, manages to rise above our small human stature and persist through time.
