The Sound Of Waves (Self Portrait) | ©2025
This work was born from an absolutely mundane spark, a snapshot taken on the fly, without much care, while I was busy making a phone call. In that moment, I saw my reflection in the window glass and captured it, originally calling it Calling. During the processing stage, that everyday gesture underwent a blending with a shot of trees, transforming into a different mental story. What emerged was a moment of profound tranquility. There is no desire to hide from view, but rather the awareness of being part of the cosmos; in a moment of calm, it is as if one breathes it in. The title changed because the sound of the waves, in this image, is twofold: it is the imperceptible sound of the universe, but it is also that of the electromagnetic waves that, silently, carry our voices far away. It is the recovery of an ordinary instant that becomes an act of universal listening.
